“Standing Apart — The Truth About Halloween and Pagan Worship”

“When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there… Let no one be found among you who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells.” – Deuteronomy 18:9-11

Every year, Halloween is celebrated around the world as a night of costumes and fun. But as believers, we must remember where these traditions began. Much of Halloween’s history is rooted in pagan festivals that honored the dead and invited spirits — practices the Bible warns us to avoid.

📖 “When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there… Let no one be found among you who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells.” – Deuteronomy 18:9-11

As followers of Christ, we are called to be separate from the world and walk in light, not darkness. That doesn’t mean judging others, but instead choosing holiness in love. While the world may glorify fear and death, we stand on the truth of a living Savior who conquered the grave. This Halloween season, let’s use our voices and lives to lift up Jesus — the Light of the World — and shine truth where darkness tries to dwell.

📖 “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.” – Ephesians 5:8
